Signing In & Account Access

Signing In & Account Access

Sign in to OpenChair, reset your password, link your Google account, or accept a team invitation.

Overview

OpenChair account access lets you:

  • Sign in with email and password or Google
  • Reset a forgotten password via email
  • Link or unlink Google as a sign-in method
  • Accept a team invitation to join a venue
  • Verify your email address when creating a new account

Signing In

Sign In with Email and Password

  1. Go to the OpenChair sign-in page
  2. Enter your Email Address
  3. Enter your Password
  4. Click "Sign In"

You are redirected to your dashboard after signing in.

Sign In with Google

  1. Go to the OpenChair sign-in page
  2. Click "Sign in with Google"
  3. Select your Google account and grant permission
  4. You are redirected to your dashboard

No password is needed when signing in with Google — Google handles the authentication.

Tip

If you use a Google Workspace email for your business, sign in with that account to keep your OpenChair account linked to your business identity.

Signing In on Mobile

The mobile app sign-in screen works the same way:

  1. Open the OpenChair app
  2. Tap "Sign in with Google" or enter your email and password
  3. Tap "Sign In"

If you do not have an account, the mobile app directs you to the web to sign up. Tap "Sign up" to open the sign-up page in your browser.

Resetting Your Password

If you have forgotten your password:

  1. Go to the sign-in page
  2. Click "Forgot password?" (next to the Password field)
  3. On the reset page, enter your Email Address
  4. Click "Send Reset Link"
  5. Check your email for a password reset link from OpenChair
  6. Click the link in the email — you are taken to the "Set New Password" page
  7. Enter your New Password (must be at least 8 characters)
  8. Enter the same password in Confirm Password
  9. Click "Reset Password"

A success message confirms: "Password reset successfully". You can now sign in with your new password.

The reset page shows: "If an account exists for [your email], we have sent a reset link to your inbox." This message appears regardless of whether the account exists, to protect your privacy.

On mobile, tap "Forgot password?" on the sign-in screen to access the same flow. The reset link opens in your browser.

Email Verification

When you create a new account with email and password, OpenChair sends a 6-digit verification code to your email:

  1. Check your email for the verification code
  2. Enter the 6-digit code on the verification screen
  3. Click "Verify Code"

Once verified, you see "Email Verified!" and are redirected to continue setup.

If you opened the verification link on a different device (for example, clicking the email link on your phone while signing up on your computer):

  • The page shows "Email Verified!" with a note: "Signing up on another device? If you were signing up on your computer or another device, you can safely close this tab and return there. It will automatically continue."
  • The original device detects verification automatically and continues the sign-up flow.

If the code does not arrive, click "Didn't receive a code? Resend" to request a new one.

Accepting a Team Invitation

When a venue owner invites you to join their team, you receive an email with an invitation link.

If You Do Not Have an OpenChair Account

  2. You see a card showing the venue name, who invited you, and your role
  3. Choose "Continue with Google" or fill in the Create Account tab:
    • Enter your Full Name
    • Your Email is pre-filled and locked to the invitation address
    • Enter a Password (at least 8 characters)
  4. Click "Create Account & Join"
  5. You are added to the venue and redirected to its dashboard

If You Already Have an OpenChair Account

  1. Click the invitation link in your email
  2. Switch to the Sign In tab
  3. Enter your Email and Password
  4. Click "Sign In & Join"

  • Password reset links expire after a limited time for security

Troubleshooting

Issue Solution
"An account with this email already exists" You already have an account. Go to the sign-in page and sign in with your password, then link Google from SettingsSecurity & Authentication if desired.
Wrong Google account selected Sign out of Google in your browser first, then try signing in again.
Google sign-in popup blocked Allow popups for OpenChair in your browser settings, then try again.
Password reset link not received Check your spam or junk folder. The email comes from OpenChair. If it still does not arrive, try requesting a new link.
"Passwords do not match" on reset page Ensure the New Password and Confirm Password fields contain exactly the same text.
Invitation link says "expired" Ask the person who invited you to send a new invitation from their Team page.
"Account mismatch" when accepting an invitation You are signed in with a different email than the invitation was sent to. Click "Sign out and try again" and sign in with the email address shown on the invitation.
Cannot change email address Email changes are not self-service. The email field in SettingsPersonal Information shows your current email with a note: "Contact support to change your email address."
