Setting Business Goals
Setting Business Goals
Set a revenue target and track your progress on the Intelligence Dashboard — see at a glance whether you're on track, behind pace, or have already hit your goal.
Overview
Business Goals lets you:
- Set a weekly or monthly revenue target for your venue
- Track progress with a colour-coded progress bar on the Revenue KPI card
- See projected end-of-period revenue based on your current pace
- Get AI-powered briefings that reference your goal (PRO)
Note
Goal setting is available on all plan tiers. Only venue owners can set or update goals. Team members can view goal progress but cannot edit targets. On mobile, goal progress is displayed within the PRO Intelligence section.
How to Set a Revenue Goal
On Web
- Go to Intelligence in the sidebar.
- Click the "Set targets" button (target icon) in the header bar.
- In the Performance Targets sheet, choose a Goal period: Monthly or Weekly.
- Enter your revenue target in the "Revenue target" field (e.g.,
5000). The currency symbol matches your venue's country ($ for AUD/NZD, £ for GBP). - Click "Save Targets".
A toast confirms "Targets saved" and the sheet closes. The Revenue card on the dashboard immediately shows your goal progress.
On Mobile
- Go to the Intelligence tab.
- Scroll to the Revenue Goal card.
- Tap "Set Target" (or "Edit" if a goal already exists).
- In the Set Revenue Goal sheet, enter the Target revenue amount.
- Choose a Period: tap "Weekly" or "Monthly".
- Tap "Save Goal".
A toast confirms "Goal updated" with haptic feedback.
Tip
To remove a goal on web, leave the revenue field blank and click "Save Targets". On mobile, tap "Remove Goal" at the bottom of the goal sheet.
Goal Period Options
| Period | Resets on | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly (default) | 1st of each month (UTC) | 28–31 days |
| Weekly | Every Monday (UTC) | 7 days |
Progress resets automatically at the start of each period. The helper text beneath the period selector reads: "Progress resets at the start of each [weekly/monthly] period."
Reading the Progress Bar
Once a goal is set, a thin colour-coded progress bar appears beneath the Revenue KPI card on the Intelligence Dashboard.
Status Labels
| Status | Colour | When it appears | Example label |
|---|---|---|---|
| Goal reached | Green | Revenue meets or exceeds the target | "Goal reached · 105%" |
| On track | Green | Projected to reach goal at current pace | "On track · 72%" |
| Behind pace | Amber | Pace ratio 80–99% of required rate | "Behind pace · 68% · 5d left" |
| Behind pace | Red | Pace ratio below 80% of required rate | "Behind pace · 42% · 12d left" |
| Goal missed | Red | Period ended without reaching target | "Goal missed · 87%" |
The label is prefixed with the period context, for example: "This month · On track · 72%".
How Progress Is Calculated
- Progress percentage = (current revenue ÷ goal target) × 100, capped at 100% for the progress bar
- Pace ratio = (current revenue × total days) ÷ (days elapsed × goal target)
- Projected end revenue = (current revenue ÷ days elapsed) × total days in period
- On track = goal already reached, OR projected revenue meets or exceeds the target
- Revenue counts bookings with status confirmed, completed, or arrived only. Cancelled, no-show, and pending bookings are excluded.
AI Integration (PRO)
When a revenue goal is set, the Concierge AI narrative on the Intelligence Dashboard incorporates your goal into its analysis:
- The AI briefing mentions your goal progress and pace in its narrative summary
- Suggested questions adapt based on goal status:
| Goal status | Suggested question |
|---|---|
| Behind pace (days remaining) | "What can I do to close the gap to my monthly target?" |
| On track (not yet reached) | "What's driving my goal performance this month?" |
| Goal reached (≥ 100%) | "I've hit my monthly target — what next?" |

Troubleshooting
| Issue | Solution |
|---|---|
| No goal progress bar showing on the Revenue card | You haven't set a goal yet. Click "Set targets" in the Intelligence header. |
| Progress says 0% but I have bookings | Check that your bookings have status confirmed, completed, or arrived. Pending, cancelled, and no-show bookings are excluded from revenue calculations. |
| "Set Target" button doesn't appear on mobile | Only venue owners see the goal setting button. If you are a staff member, ask your owner to set a goal — you can still view progress. |
| Goal progress seems wrong after changing the period | Progress resets when the period changes. If you switch from monthly to weekly mid-month, progress is recalculated against the current week only. |
| Revenue card shows "Behind pace" in red but I'm close to my target | The red colour appears when your pace ratio is below 80% of the required rate. You may be close in absolute terms but your daily pace suggests you won't reach the target by period end. |
